Membership Process

Membership at Sojourn is not a mere formality but a genuine two-way commitment. It means that you are a part of our family. It means that are committed to each other in love and faithfulness. 

Step 1: Membership Videos

Watch the six membership videos below. These videos discuss our mission, values, and the role of membership at our church. Watching membership videos is required to become a member.

Step 2: Membership Class

Our Membership Class is a place to learn what makes us who we are at Sojourn J-Town. It takes place on a Sunday during the 11 am service. During the class, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss membership with one or more of our pastors/ elders. Participation in the Membership Class is required to become a member. This class is not a commitment in any way but simply an opportunity to learn more about membership at our church.

Step 3: Membership Interview

A Membership Interview is a meeting with one of our church leaders where we get to know you more and provide you a space to ask more questions. This interview is not an interrogation but a conversation about your story, needs, and gifting as you step into our church.



Step 4: Member Installation

Once your interview is completed, and both parties are comfortable with moving forward, you can begin to function as a member. In our next Member Meeting we will introduce you to our church, you will read some liturgy stating your commitment and the church will state their commitment to you as well.
